My client is an enterprise wide credit and market risk management solution for financial services institutions. They assist institutions of varying size and complexity to deploy technology to meet both internal and regulatory requirements for risk management and operational control. They assist more than 160 financial services institutions from the banking, hedge fund, asset management, insurance and corporate sectors with our deep understanding of risk management and operational processes.
My client is looking for an enthusiastic software developer to work in the Derivatives development team.
Responsibilities
The developer will be working on core product development*enhancements and maintenance
Assist in planning and estimating of developments
Delivery of developments to agreed plans
Analysis and specification of technical extensions to meet functional requirements
Assist in business requirements analysis
Client consultants
Requirements:
The applicant should have the following qualifications and skills
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of software development experience preferably within a software house*financial*system environment
Must have strong client*user*interpersonal*communication skills
Must be a self starter with the ability to work on ones own initiative
Be willing to go the extra mile and be a team player
B.S. degree in computer science or engineering
A strong mathematical background would be advantageous
3+ years C++ development (Unix and*or Windows NT- both preferred) and OO methodologies experience essential
Ability to analyse existing C++ code base
Experience of Rogue Wave*STL*Oracle*Sybase*IBM MQ would be advantageous
Additionally Visual Basic preferred but not essential. COM experience though is a definite advantage
Financial systems development experience in the areas of Interest rate derivatives, fixed income etc preferred but will consider otherwise exceptional candidates that do not have such experience.
